Borders closing

I feel extreme sadness that Borders will be liquidated. As many of you may know I was on the management team at Borders Express and Borders in Braintree. (Yes, I worked for Barnes & Noble many years before that but that's another story)
My love of books will never wane, regardless of whether I read in bookform or e-format. But bookform will always be my favorite. The thrill of opening a box of new releases, recommending a book I loved, receiving a recommendation from customers, sharing new titles with staff, and meeting authors. What amazing joy!
I was among the first of many who read Harry Potter before it was a phenomenon and took great pleasure seeing kids and adults enjoying reading a wonderful series of books. My first email account was on AOL and was Muggleborn! Total book nerd.

I will always read and review my favorites and not-so favorite with you. This is a good time to open up a book and read. Pay homage to the hardworking authors and booksellers. And we all know, when one door closes.....
